A photographers look at things: small room shoot

Here at the office/studio things are a bit tight for shooting people. That said it can be done and I do it.
This last week had a nice young lady drop in for a shoot to see just how much we could do here without making major changes.
Things learned are;
Head shots and 3/4 shots no problem at all.
Full body shots we have some issues to work out but they are not hard to take care of.
The changing room, makeup room is OK as well.

I am finding the office/studio to be a bit cramped for much more then head shots and small products.
That said, we had a lot of fun one morning this last week. Even the snow falling was fun to work around for summer like shots outside.

Working with others to expand your images into new looks.

I have been looking for an image that would be much better with a bit more work due to the quick shooting or subject matter. Found it when looking at the images from my kids wedding. At the lunch she stands up and shouts over the heads of everyone to me. "Daddy, take our picture!" Then her new Hubby grabs her and does the classic "Kiss" pose from the "D" day kiss in Times Square. SO, here I have this lovely image (not) with all the wall behind them that just needs a redo that is not going to happen.

Now comes Nikita into the picture. I see in my head this vision of a 40's style pin up of this image, not the quick snap shot I have taken. Off we go with some emails, a file up, a proof back and a final file from her to me and then my finish work on the layout. Presto Change-O! New image we all can be happy to show to everyone.

I am never afraid to pair up with another craftsman to create a better image.

One more of the kids married and off to new things.

So, I get this phone call a cpl of months ago. This nice young man and I chat for a bit about life and then he does what I have been dreading for 21 years. He ask if he can ask my Rikki to marry him when she is with him on vacation. Seemed he had it all worked out. Dinner on a river boat in Paris, wine, lovely sites, dressed up, a stop at the tower. We talked about how I needed him to support my girls college years. She has plans, big ones and that he was going to have to support them or bow out of her life.

Sigh.... long story short, he ask, she said yes and this week they had a small civil wedding. The "big one" to come after Rikki has her B.S. degree in a year and a half we are told.

I watched them touch with the right body language. I am happy for them.
